Abstract

Hipertenzija u trudnoći je glavni uzrok majčine smrti u cijelom svijetu i značajan uzrok perinatalne smrtnosti. Smatra se da kalcij, magnezij i natrij imaju važnu ulogu u patogenezi hipertenzije u trudnica. Cilj ovog rada bio je utvrditi prehrambeni unos kalcija, magnezija i natrija u trudnica, te njihovo znanje o preporukama u trudnoći. U ovom istraživanju sudjelovalo je 16 trudnica. Dnevni unos kalcija, magnezija i natrija procijenjen je metodom 24-satnog prisjećanja. Preporučeni dnevni unos, bez dodatak prehrani, za kalcij je ostvaren u 56% trudnica, za magnezij u 25% trudnica, a za natrij u 19% trudnica. Dodatke prehrani konzumira 94% trudnica tijekom trudnoće. Većina trudnica prepoznaje izvore kalcija, magnezija i natrija u hrani, ali ne i njihov preporučeni dnevni unos. Trudnice je potrebno educirati o važnosti kalcija, magnezija i natrija tijekom trudnoće.

Abstract (english)

Hypertension in pregnancy is a major cause of maternal death in the world and an important cause of perinatal mortality. It is considered that calcium, magnesium and sodium have an important role in pathogenesis of hypertension. The aim of this study was to determine the dietary intake of calcium, magnesium and sodium, and their knowledge about recommended intake of previously mentioned minerals during pregnancy. In this study, participated 16 pregnant women. Daily intake of calcium, magnesium and sodium was estimate by the method of 24-hour recall. Recommended daily allowance, without supplements, for calcium is achieved in 56% of pregnant women, for magnesium in 25%, and for sodium in 19% of pregnant women. Dietary supplements consumed 94% of pregnant women during pregnancy. Most pregnant women recognized the sources of calcium, magnesium and sodium, but not their recommended daily allowance. Pregnant women need to be educated about the importance calcium, magnesium and sodium during pregnancy.
