Abstract

Šećerna bolest jedna je od najznačajnijih javnozdravstvenih problema suvremenog društva s vrlo visokom prevalencijom i incidencijom broja oboljelih u razvijenim zemljama. Kronična je bolest karakterizirana metaboličkim poremećajima kojima je svojstven relativan ili apsolutni manjak inzulina te hiperglikemija kao posljedica. Zahtijeva stalnu medicinsku njegu i samokontrolu bolesti od strane bolesnika kako bi se spriječile akutne komplikacije i smanjio rizik od dugoročnih posljedica. Specijalne enteralne formule su polimerni pripravci prilagođeni potrebama u posebnim patološkim stanjima kao što su metabolički poremećaji ili specifične bolesti koje uključuju disfunkciju pojedinog organa. U ovom radu se želi utvrditi potreba za uzimanjem enteralne prehrane u osoba sa šećernom bolesti radi bolje kontrole bolesti. Mali je broj osoba sa šećernom bolešću kojima su potrebni enteralni pripravci, te su to najčešće osobe s tipom 1 šećerne bolesti i samo kod medicinsko opravdanih stanja.

Abstract (english)

Diabetes is one of the most important public health problems of modern society with a very high prevalence and incidence of patients in developed countries. A chronic disease characterized by metabolic disorders with relative or absolute deficiency of insulin, which leads to hyperglycemia. Diabetes requires constant medical care and self-management of disease by the patient in order to prevent the acute complications and reduce the risk of long-term consequences. Special enteral formula are polymer formulations adapted to the needs of specific pathological conditions such as metabolic disorders or specific diseases involving a dysfunction of individual organs. The aim of this study was to determine the need of enteral nutrition in patients with diabetes to manage better control of the disease. There is a small number of people with diabetes who require enteral formulae, and these are usually the people with type 1 diabetes and only if condition is medically justified.
