Abstract

Primjena bezglutenske prehrane je u zadnjih nekoliko desetljeća znatno porasla zbog sve češće dijagnoze celijakije i ostalih poremećaja vezanih uz gluten i utjecaja ovog tipa prehrane na liječenje. Bezglutenska prehrana podrazumijeva prehranu u kojoj nema glutena – proteinske frakcije žitarica koji je odgovoran za aktiviranje imunološkog sustava čime se oštećuje crijevna sluznica tankog crijeva i smanjena je apsorpcija nutrijenata. Jedini način liječenja celijakije i ostalih poremećaja povezanih s glutenom je doživotna bezglutenska prehrana, međutim kako ista sadrži manju količinu pojedinih nutrijenata to može dovesti do deficita istih. Stoga je potreban pravilan izbor namirnica koje ne sadrže gluten i pažljivo planiranje prehrane kako bi se simptomi celijakije i drugih poremećaja ublažili ili otklonili.

Abstract (english)

Application of the gluten free diet has increased considerably over the last few decades due to more frequent diagnosis of celiac disease and other gluten related disorders and it is role in the treatment. Gluten free diet does not contain gluten – a protein fraction of cereals that causes activation of the immune system and damage of the intestinal mucosa which leads to reduced absorption of nutrients. The only treatment of celiac disease and gluten related disorders is a lifetime gluten free diet however it contains less amount of some nutrients which can lead to deficit. Therefore a proper choice of gluten free foods and adequate diet planning is needed in order to reduce or eliminate symptoms.
