Abstract

Radi zaštite usjeva od korova koriste se herbicidi u velikim količinama. Jedan od najčešće korištenih herbicida je atrazin, koji zbog dugog vremena poluraspada u tlu i slabe topljivosti u vodi predstavlja opasnost za okoliš. Stoga je potrebno ukloniti ga iz okoliša. Postoje razne kemijske metode uklanjanja atrazina poput hidrolize, fotolize, oksigenacije, dehalogenacije i naprednih oksidacijskih procesa, koje su skupe i koriste štetne kemikalije. Iz tih razloga u posljednje vrijeme sve se više razvijaju metode mikrobne razgradnje atrazina koje su isplativije i ekološki prihvatljivije. Prilikom mikrobne razgradnje atrazina mogu se koristiti pojedinačne bakterije ili bakterijske i različite mikrobne zajednice. Neke od njih atrazin razgrađuju potpuno, a neke djelomično. Najbolje istražena i najčešće korištena bakterija sa sposobnošću razgradnje atrazina je bakterija Pseudomonas sp. ADP.

Abstract (english)

In order to protect crops from weeds, herbicides are used in large quantities. One of the most commonly used herbicide is atrazine, which is a threat to environment because of the long half-life time in soil and low solubility in water. It is therefore necessary to remove it from the environment. There are various chemical methods for the removal of atrazine, such as hydrolysis, photolysis, oxygenation, dehalogenation and advanced oxidation processes, which are expensive and use hazardous chemicals. Thus, methods of microbial degradation of atrazine, that are cost effective and environmentally friendly have lately started to develop increasingly. During the microbial degradation of atrazine individual bacteria or bacterial and different microbial communities can be used. Some of them degrade atrazine completely and some partially. The best studied and most widely used bacteria capable of atrazine degradation is bacterium Pseudomonas sp. ADP.
