Abstract

Procjena unosa folne kiseline u žena reproduktivne dobi je važna zbog mnogih dosadašnjih saznanja o povoljnom utjecaju tog vitamina, poglavito kada govorimo o začeću i prevenciji defekata neuralne cijevi djeteta, što je za sada najvažnije otkriće vezano uz folnu kiselinu. Istraživanja su također pokazala da folat ima povoljan utjecaj na prevenciju osteoporoze, kardiovaskularnih bolesti, demencije u starijih osoba itd. Ovim je radom obuhvaćena populacija od 59 žena dobi izmeñu 30 i 45 godina. FFQ-om je procijenjen unos prehrambenog folata, a općim upitnikom su utvrđene njihove životne navike. Rezultati su pokazali da prosječan unos folata među ispitanicama nije u skladu s preporukom.

Abstract (english)

The estimation of folic acid in woman of childbearing age iz important because of all previous findings, especially when we speak of conseption and the prevention of neural tube defects in newborns. This is, by now, the most important discovery related to folic acid. Also, various reasearch have shown that folic acid has positive effect in the prevention of osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, demention in older people etc. In this theisis there were 59 woman who were examined through FFQ wich was used for evaluation of food folate intake and additional general questionnaire to find out some of their life habits. The results have shown that the average folate intake was not in accordance with the recommendations.
