Abstract

Polimerna ambalaža ima značajnu ulogu u očuvanju kvalitete i sigurnosti hrane, bilo svježeg mesa, voća, povrća, bilo njenih poluprerađevina ili gotovih prehrambenih proizvoda. Odabirom polimernog materijala optimalne propusnosti na plinove moguće je značajno povećanje trajnosti uz očuvanje izvorne kvalitete upakiranog proizvoda. U ovom radu istraživat će se permeacijska svojstva kisika (koeficijenti permeabilnosti, difuzije i topljivosti) kroz poliolefinske filmove, linearni polietilen niske gustoće (PE-LLD) i lijevani polipropilen (PPcast), pri različitim temperaturama (+4°C, +20°C, +40°C, +60°C). Propusnost kisika kroz PE-LLD i PPcast filmove povećava se s porastom temperature, a posljedica čega je smanjenje barijernog svojstva i zaštite proizvoda. Koeficijenti permeabilnosti (P), difuzije (D) i topljivosti (S) za PE-LLD i PPcast filmove također se povećavaju s porastom temperature. U usporedbi s PE-LLD filmom, PPcast film pokazuje veći otpor difuziji kisika.

Abstract (english)

Polymeric packaging material plays a significant role in the quality and safety preservation of fresh, semi-processed and processed food products. Shelf life of packaged foodstuffs can be significantly extended by selecting polymeric material with optimal gas permeability characteristics, while the original quality of the packaged product is preserved. In this thesis, permeability properties of oxygen (coefficients of permeability, diffusion and solubility) are tested through polyolefin films, linear low density polyethylene (PE-LLD) and cast polypropylene (PPcast), at various temperatures (+4°C, +20°C, +40°C, +60°C). Oxygen permeability in PE-LLD and PPcast films increases with temperature increase, which results in a decrease of the protective properties of the packaged product. The coefficient of permeability (P), diffusion (D) and solubility (S) of PE-LLD and PPcast films also increases with temperature increase. Unlike PE-LLD, PPcast film shows greater resistance towards oxygen diffusion.
