Abstract

Istraživano je začepljivanje membrana u membranskom bioreaktoru pri filtraciji aktivnog mulja. Izmjereni kritični fluks sustava iznosio je 21 L m-2 h-1. Začepljivanje je provedeno fluksom od 20 L m-2 h-1, pri čemu je zabilježen pad permeabilnosti s približno 6000 na 2000 L m-2 h-1 bar-1 u prvih 20 sati filtracije, nakon čega se brzina začepljivanja postupno smanjuje. I samim uranjanjem membrane u aktivni mulj izmjereno je začepljivanje membrana, što pokazuje pad permeabilnosti sa 7000 na 6000 L m-2 h-1 bar-1. Iz izmjerenih i izračunatih vrijednosti otpora filtraciji može se zaključiti da je začepljivanje uzrokovano adsorpcijom otopljenih tvari i stvaranjem filtracijskog kolača. Intenzivniji utjecaj filtracijskog kolača u odnosu na utjecaj adsorpcije otopljenih tvari na začepljivanje zabilježen je nakon 183. sata filtracije. Fizikalno pranje pokazalo se kao moguća metoda za djelomično uklanjanje naslaga na membrani pri nižem stupnju začepljenja, dok je kemijskim pranjem bilo moguće potpuno očistiti membranu pri čemu je ustanovljena veća učinkovitost pranja samim uranjanjem membrane u otopinu za pranje uz aeraciju nego filtracijom sredstva za pranje kroz membranu.

Abstract (english)

Fouling of membrane in the membrane bioreactor during the filtration of the activated sludge was investigated. The measured critical flux of the system was 21 L m-2 h-1. Fouling was induced by the filtration with flux of 20 L m-2 h-1, where drop of permeability, approximately from 6000 to 2000 L m-2 h-1 bar-1 was detected in first 20 hours of filtration. Fouling of the membrane was also observed by membrane immersion in activated sludge, which was indicated by the drop of permeability from 7000 to 6000 L m-2 h-1 bar-1. From the measured and calculated values of the filtration resistance it can be concluded that fouling was caused by the adsorption of the soluble and colloid matter as well as cake deposition. Filtration cake resistance became more pronounced than resistance caused by adsorption after 183 hour of filtration. Physical cleaning proved to be a possible method for partial removal of the material deposit on the membrane for lower degree of fouling, while by chemical cleaning it was possible to clean the membrane completely. During chemical cleaning with the hypochlorite solution higher efficiency was established by immersion of the membrane into the cleaning solution than by its filtration.
