Abstract

Pravilna prehrana podrazumijeva umjeren, raznolik i uravnotežen unos svih hranjivih tvari koje su neophodne za održavanje optimalnog zdravlja. Najbolji primjer jest mediteranski obrazac prehrane koji je bogat cjelovitim žitaricama, voćem, povrćem i ribom. Riba je iznimno bogata kvalitetnim proteinima, vitaminima, mineralima i omega-3 masnim kiselinama koje štite od bolesti srca i krvnih žila. Stoga je provedena studija koja je istražila unos slatkovodne i morske ribe među 427 ribara u Republici Hrvatskoj, kao i njihovo mišljenje o tome koja riba sadrži najviše omega-3 masnih kiselina. Rezultati studije su pokazali da je unos ribe niži ili jednak minimalnoj preporučenoj vrijednosti. Ispitanici s priobalja konzumiraju više ribe od ispitanika s kontinenta, također više preferiraju morsku ribu u odnosu na slatkovodnu. Unatoč tome, ispitanici u obje regije većinom su dali mišljenje kako najviše omega-3 masnih kiselina sadrži skuša.

Abstract (english)

Proper nutrition implies moderate, varied and balanced introduction of all the nutrients necessary to maintain optimal health, moderate, varied and balanced. The best example is a Mediterranean diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and fish. Fish are extremely rich in quality proteins, vitamins, minerals and omega-3 fatty acids that protect against heart and blood vessels diseases. Therefore, a study was carried out to investigate the intake of freshwater and marine fish among the 427 fishermen in the Republic of Croatia, as well as their opinion on which fish contains the most omega-3 fatty acids. The results of the study have shown that the fish intake is lower than or equal to the minimum recommended value. Coastline respondents consume more fish than respondents from the continent, also prefer sea fish compared to freshwater. Nonetheless, respondents in both regions largely believed that most omega-3 fatty acids contained the fat.
