Abstract
U radu su opisana opća obilježja crijevne mikrobiote, njene glavne sastavnice i utjecaj na imunosni sustav čovjeka. Poseban naglasak je stavljen na razvoj patogene mikrobiote kao jednog od čimbenika u etiologiji i patofiziologiji upalnih bolesti crijeva, posebice ulceroznog kolitisa. Dat je i osvrt na samu kliničku sliku bolesti, kao i dostupne metode liječenja. Konačno, razmotrena je i primjena probiotika kao dodataka prehrani u svrhu modulacije prisutne crijevne mikrobiote, odnosno u svrhu podrške terapiji lijekovima.
Abstract (english)
This work provides some general features about intestinal microbiota, its main components and impact on human immune system. The biggest emphasis is on the development of pathogen microbiota as one of the factors in etiology and pathophysiology of intestinal bowel diseases, or in this case ulcerative colitis. Short review of clinical features is also provided as well as the medical management of disease. Lastly, the use of probiotics as food supplements for treating intestinal dysbiosis and possible adjuvants in therapy is discussed.
