Abstract

Pirimidini i purini s ferocenoilnim supstituentom predstavljaju zanimljive organometalne konjugate budući njihova struktura uključuje biološki te također i elektrokemijski aktivne komponente. U literaturi je opisana priprema niza nukleobaza supstituiranih ferocenom korištenjem različitih razmaknica. U prijašnjim studijama, pripravljene su N1-ferocenoilirane nukleobaze (uracil, timin i 5-florouracil). Karbonilna skupina kao razmaknica omogućuje konjugaciju ferocenoilne jedinice s aromatskim prstenom nukleobaza dok do delokalizacija elektrona može doći dodavanjem supstituenata na ferocenski prsten. Imajući ovo na umu, cilj ovog diplomskog rada bila je sinteza homo- i heteroanularno supstituiranih derivata ferocena i citozina. Posebna pažnja posvećena je utjecaju otapala, temperature deprotoniranja i kopulacije na iskorištenje i regioselektivnost reakcija.

Abstract (english)

Pyrimidines and purines substituted by ferrocenyl moiety present interesting organometallic conjugates as their structures incorporate both biologically and electrochemically active components. A series of ferrocene-substituted nucleobases has been described incorporating a different set of linkers. In previous studies, N1-ferrocenoylated pyrimidine nucleobases (uracil, thymine and 5-fluorouracil) were prepared. Carbonyl spacer enables extended conjugation involving ferrocenyl and nucleobase aromatic moieties, and the electron delocalization can be tuned by inserting substituents at the ferrocene ring system. With having this in mind, the aim of this thesis was to show the preparation procedure of homo- and heteroannularly substituted ferrocenoyl-cytosine derivatives. Special attention is dedicated to the solvent, the temperature effect on the deprotonation and coupling steps on yield and the regioselectivity of the reaction.
