Abstract

U potrazi za ekološki prihvatljivim otapalima, sve veću popularnost stekla su eutektična otapala koja predstavljaju novu generaciju stabilnih i nehlapivih zelenih otapala. Pretpostavlja se da bi mogla zamijeniti široko korištena tradicionalna i toksična organska otapala. U ovom radu ispitano je djelovanje eutektičnog otapala kolin-klorid:malata, pripremljenog u dva različita množinska omjera, primjenom in vitro metode. Određena je vijabilnost stanica WST-1 metodom nakon 72 sata tretmana na staničnoj linija riba (CCO) i humanoj tumorskoj staničnoj liniji (HeLa). U ispitanom rasponu koncentracija (10-2000 mg L-1) nije uočen negativan i citotoksičan utjecaj eutektičkog otapala na CCO i HeLa stanice. Odabrane stanične linije predstavljaju dobar modelni sustav za toksikološka ispitivanja, a ispitano eutektično otapalo kolin-klorid:malat ima dobar ekotoksikološki profil i može se smatrati zelenom alternativom za moguću primjenu u kemijskim i biotehnološkim procesima.

Abstract (english)

Looking for environmentally acceptable solvents, deep eutectic solvents increasingly gained popularity as new generation of stable and non volatile green solvents. It is assumed that it could replace widely used traditional and toxic organic solvents. In this study was tested the effect of deep eutectic solvent choline-chloride:malate, prepared in two different molar ratios, using in vitro method. Cell viability was determined using WST-1 method after 72 hours of treatment on fish cell line (CCO) and human tumor cell line (HeLa). In the tested range of concentration (10 to 2000 mg L-1), wasn't observed negative and cytotoxic effect of deep eutectic solvents on CCO and HeLa cells. Selected cell lines represent a good modal system for toxicity testing, and tested solvent choline-chloride:malate has a good ecotoxicological profile and can be considered a green alternative for possible application in the chemical and biotechnological processes.
