Abstract

Cilj ovoga rada bio je ispitati potencijal primjene vodenog dvofaznog sustava s eutektičkim otpalom za ekstrakciju polifenola u makro- i mikroekstraktoru. U okviru rada, na temelju učinkovitosti ekstrakcije, kao pogodno eutektičko otapalo odabran je kolin-klorid: etilen-glikol. Primjenom metode odzivnih površina procijenjeni su optimalni uvjeti za provedbu procesa ekstrakcije u šaržnom makroekstraktoru: masa DES-a od 1,25 g, koncentracija soli od 0,95 g mL-1, vrijeme ekstrakcije od 15 min, temperatura ekstrakcije od 50 °C, koncentracija galne kiseline od 60 mg L-1 te je uočeno da je temperatura varijabla koja najviše utječe na učinkovitost ekstrakcije. Pri navedenim optimalnim uvjetima provedeni su pokusi ekstrakcije u kontinuiranom mikroekstraktoru te je postignuta učinkovitost ekstrakcije od približno 94 % za vrijeme zadržavanja od 2,43 s što predstavlja značajan napredak usporedbi sa šaržnim procesom gdje je za vrijeme ekstrakcije od 15 min postignuta učinkovitost ekstrakcije od 88 %.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this work was to investigate the potential of aqueous two-phase system with eutectic solvents for extraction of polyphenols in macro- and microextractor. Based on the efficiency of the extraction, choline chloride: ethylene-glycol was selected as a suitable eutectic solvent. Using the Response surface method, the optimum conditions for the aqueous two-phase system extraction in the batch conditions were estimated (DES weight of 1.25 g, salt concentration of 0.95 g mL-1, 15 minute extraction time, extraction temperature of 50 °C, galic acid concentration of 60 mg L-1) and it was observed that the temperature is the most important variable for the extraction efficiency. Extraction experiments in a continuous microextractor were carried out at selected optimum conditions, and the extraction efficiency of the of approximately 94 % was achieved at the residence time of 2.43 s, which represents a significant improvement compared to the batch process where the extraction efficiency of 88 % was achieved for extraction time of 15 min.
