Abstract

Spoznaja o važnim fiziološkim učincima vitamina D raste, no prevalencija nedostatka je i dalje visoka. Nedostatak vitamina D i pretilost povezuju se s raznim kroničnim nezaraznim bolestima. Cilj istraživanja je bio odrediti prosječan dnevni prehrambeni unos vitamina D i njegov status u pretilih osoba (indeks tjelesne mase >30 kg m-2) s obzirom na spol i dob te utvrditi postoji li povezanost s antropometrijskim i biokemijskim parametrima. Prosječan dnevni unos vitamina D je procijenjen upitnikom o učestalosti konzumiranja hrane i pića te 24-h prisjećanjem. Koncentracija 25-hidroksivitamina D je određena metodom enzimske imunoanalize. Prosječan unos vitamina D kod žena je bio 3,2 μg/dan, a kod muškaraca 3,0 μg/dan (p>0,05). Također je kod ispitanika dobi 18-44 godina bio 3,0 μg/dan, a kod ispitanika dobi 45-65 godina 3,2 μg/dan (p>0,05). Deficit vitamina D (<50 nmol L-1) je utvrđen u 81,4% žena i 68,8% muškaraca, te u 73,9% ispitanika dobi 18-44 godine i 80,0% ispitanika dobi 45-65 godina. Istraživanje je pokazalo visoku prevalenciju nedostatnog prehrambenog unosa i statusa vitamina D u pretilih osoba.

Abstract (english)

Knowledge about the important physiological effects of vitamin D is growing, but the prevalence of deficiency is still high. Vitamin D deficiency and obesity are associated with various chronic non-contagious diseases. The aim of the study was to determine the average daily dietary intake of vitamin D and its status in obese people (body mass index> 30 kg m-2) with respect to sex and age and to determine whether there are anomalies with anthropometric and biochemical parameters. The average daily intake of vitamin D was estimated by the questionnaire on the frequency of food and drink consumption and 24-hour remembrance. The concentration of 25-hydroxyvitamin D was determined by enzymatic immunoassay. The average vitamin D intake was 3.2 μg/day in women and 3.0 μg/day in men (p> 0.05). Also in subjects aged 18-44 years of age was 3.0 μg/day, and in subjects aged 45-65 years 3.2 μg/day (p> 0.05). The vitamin D deficiency (<50 nmol L-1) was found in 81.4% of women and 68.8% of males, and 73.9% of subjects aged 18-44 years and 80.0% of subjects aged 45-65 years. The study showed high prevalence of inadequate dietary intake and vitamin D status in obese people.
