Nutritivni status i ishodi hospitaliziranih bolesnika na KBC-u Zagreb u okviru projekta nutritionDay 2018

Abstract

Prevalencija malnutricije je čest i ozbiljan problem među hospitaliziranim pacijentima. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je prikazati stvarnu i sveobuhvatnu analizu nutritivnog statusa, nutritivne potpore i na koncu ishod liječenja pacijenata bolnice hospitaliziranih na Kliničkom bolničkom centru Zagreb (Rebro). Analizirali su se podaci prikupljeni putem upitnika tijekom nutritionDay-a provedenog 15. i 16. studenog 2018. godine o bolestima pacijenata, njihovom nutritivnom statusu, nutritivnom unosu i potpori te ishodu liječenja nakon 30 dana. Ukupno je bilo uključeno 110 bolesnika s odabranih odjela. Od toga je njih 4,5% bilo pothranjeno što potvrđuje i pozitivan ishod čak 73,4% pacijenata, međutim prosječni indeks tjelesne mase iznosio je 27,2 kgm-2. 60,9% pacijenata hrani se bolničkim dijetama bez posebnih nutritivnih intervencija, dok dodatnu nutritivnu potporu prima tek 7,3% pacijenata putem parenteralne i 2,7% putem enteralne prehrane. 73,4% pacijenata je jako ili donekle zadovoljno bolničkom hranom, ali samo njih 42,2% pojelo je cijeli obrok tog dana. Prosječni broj dana provedenih u bolnici iznosio je 12. Svijest o važnosti nutritivnog statusa i potpore trebala bi biti veća zbog utjecaja na krajnji ishod pacijenata.

Abstract (english)

The prevalence of malnutrition is a common and serious problem among hospitalized patients. The aim of this study was to present a real and comprehensive analysis of nutritional status, nutritional support and ultimately the outcome of treating patients at University Hospital Centre Zagreb. The data collected through the questionnaire during nutritionDay conducted on November 15 and 16, 2018 about patient diseases, their nutritional status, nutritional intake and support, as well as the outcome of treatment after 30 days were analyzed. A total of 110 patients were included in selected departments. 4,5% patients were malnourished, confirming a positive outcome of as much as 73,4% of patients, but the average body mass index was 27,2 kgm-2. 60,9% of patients are fed with regular hospital food without special nutritional interventions, and only 7,3% of patients receive parenteral and 2,7% enteral nutritional support. 73,4% of patients were very or somewhat satisfied with hospital food, but only 42,2% of them had the full meal of that day. The average number of days spent in the hospital was 12. The awareness of the importance of nutritional status and support should be greater due to the impact on the patient's ultimate outcome.
