Utjecaj natrijeva acetata na rast mikroorganizama koji akumuliraju fosfor iz otpadne vode

Abstract

Uklanjanje fosfora iz otpadnih voda u posljednje je vrijeme radi ljudske aktivnosti postalo sve važnije kako bi se izbjeglo preopterećivanje prirodnih recipijenata. Napredno biološko uklanjanje fosfora često se koristi u praksi i stalno se usavršava i istražuje. U ovome je radu praćena obrada sintetičke otpadne vode u laboratorijskom SBR uređaju s naglaskom na uklanjanje spojeva s fosforom, a cilj rada bio je ispitati utjecaj visoke koncentracije natrijeva acetata na uspješnost procesa obrade i na preživljavanje i aktivnost mikroorganizama koji akumuliraju fosfor (PAO). Provedena su dva pokusa u kojima su korištene različite koncentracije natrijeva acetata (3400 mgL-1 i 1200 mgL-1). Usklađene su faze obrade uz aeraciju i bez aeracije radi propagiranja rasta PAO u aktivnome mulju. SBR uređaj je radio u ciklusima obrade od 24 sata pri čemu se svaki ciklus sastojao od 6 faza: punjenje, anaerobna faza obrade, aerobna faza obrade, i uzimanje mulja, taloženje mulja i uzimanje efluenta. Uvjeti rada uređaja bili su prilagođeni rastu PAO (pH = 8; T = 20°C) te su praćeni različiti parametri poput uklanjanja ugljika, dušika i fosfora kako bi se iz dobivenih rezultata mogla procijeniti kvaliteta pročišćene vode i efikasnost primijenjene metode obrade. SRT oba pokusa je bio 10 dana. Rezultati su pokazali da u prvom pokusu nisu bili prisutni PAO, najvjerojatnije zbog previsoke koncentracije natrijeva acetata, dok je u drugom pokusu zabilježena veća aktivnost PAO.

Abstract (english)

Removing phosphorus from wastewater has recently become increasingly important for human activity to avoid overburdening natural recipients. Enhanced biological phosphorus removal is often used in practice and is constantly being refined and explored. This paper deals with the treatment of synthetic wastewater in a laboratory SBR with the emphasis on removal of phosphorous compounds. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of high concentration of sodium acetate on the processing, survival and activity of phosphorus accumulating microorganisms (PAO). Two experiments were carried out using different concentrations of sodium acetate (3400 mgL-1 and 1200 mgL-1). The treatment phases with and without aeration were aligned to allow the PAO present in the active sludge to proliferate. The SBR worked in 24-hour treatment cycles, which consisted of 6 phases: filling, anaerobic treatment, aerobic treatment, sludge settling, sludge and effluent removal. The operating conditions of the device were adjusted to PAO growth (pH = 8; T = 20°C) and various parameters such as carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus removal were monitored to estimate the quality of the purified water and the efficiency of the applied processing method. The SRT for both experiments was 10 days. The results showed that PAO was not present in the first experiment, probably due to the excessive sodium acetate concentration and the treatment process was not successful while the second experiment had a higher activity of PAO.
