Abstract

Utjecaj ekstrakcije visokonaponskim pražnjenjem na koncentraciju karotenoida u talogu usitnjenih listova kadulje ispitan je pomoću ultraljubičaste i vidljive spektrofotometrije (UV-Vis spektrofotometrije). Ekstrakcija visokonaponskim pražnjenjem nova je nekonvencionalna zelena metoda koja poboljšava ekstrakciju bioaktivnih komponenata iz biljnih materijala. Prednost ove metode u tome je što se biljni materijal prilikom ekstrakcije znatno ne zagrijava pa ne dolazi to termičke degradacije osjetljivih bioaktivnih komponenti. Masena koncentracija ukupnih karotenoida, ksantofila i karotena u 90-postotnim metanolnim ekstraktima taloga kadulje, preostalim nakon tretiranja listova kadulje hladnom plazmom, te netretiranim uzorcima određena je primjenom Lichtenthalerovih jednadžbi nakon mjerenja apsorbancije na UV-Vis spektrofotometru. Pokazano je kako se djelovanjem visokonaponskog pražnjenja na kadulju u većini slučajeva smanjuje masena koncentracija karotenoida.

Abstract (english)

The effect of high voltage discharge extraction on the concentration of carotenoids in the sage leaves precipitate was examined using a UV/Vis spectrophotometry. High voltage discharge extraction is a new, unconventional, green method which increases the extraction of bioactive components from plant materials. The advantage of this exraction method is the fact that it does not heat up the plant materials and, therefore, it does not cause the degradation of bioactive components susceptible to high temperatures. Mass concentrations of total carotenoids, carotens and xantophylls in 90% methanol extracts of precipitates were determined by Lichtenthaler's equations after an apsorbance measurements using UV/Vis spectrophotometry. The results indicate that generally high voltage discharge extraction causes a reduction in mass concentration of carotenoids in plant materials.
