Abstract

Aerobni granulirani mulj (AGS) predstavlja guste kompaktne agregate sastavljene od samoimobilizirajućih bakterija, izvrsne taloživosti. Biološka obrada otpadnih voda primjenom aerobnog granuliranog mulja najčešće se provodi korištenjem SBR tehnologije. Kompaktna mikrobna struktura i snižena vrijednost indeksa mulja omogućuju samostalnu separaciju biomase od obrađene vode unutar jednog bioreaktora. Postojanje različitih redoks zona unutar pojedinačnih granula omogućava istovremeno uklanjanje organskih spojeva i provođenje nitrifikacije i denitrifikacije. Brojni okolišni i procesni čimbenici odgovorni su za nastanak i stabilnost aerobnih granula, poput: hidrodinamičkih sila smicanja, odgovarajućeg vremena taloženja, organskog opterećenja, temperature i sastava otpadne vode. Primjena AGS smatra se poželjnom biološkom metodom obrade otpadnih voda zbog smanjene potrebe za prostornom površinom, nižih troškova procesa i učinkovitog pročišćavanja različitih vrsta otpadnih voda. Zbog brojnih prednosti u usporedbi s aktivnim muljem, privlači interese mnogih znanstvenika.

Abstract (english)

Aerobic granular sludge (AGS) is a spherical dense biomass formed by self-immobilization with enhanced settling properties. The AGS process uses SBR technology. Compact microbial structure with lower SVI values allows separation of biomass and treated wastewater in the bioreactor itself. Maintenance of different redox conditions in the granules allows simultaneous removal of organic matters or simultaneous nitrification and denitrification. Numerous operational factors influence the stability of granules, i.e. hydrodynamic shear forces, settling velocities, organic loading rate and wastewater composition. AGS technology is promising biological method for wastewater treatment plants because of smaller land footprint, lower costs and efficient wastewater treatment. Due to its advantages compared to activated sludge, aerobic granular sludge has gained enormous interest among scientist.
