Abstract

Tema ovog diplomskog rada bila je istražiti i proučiti utjecaj migrene na prehrambene navike oboljelih. Odnosno, koje to prehrambene namirnice i sastojci hrane mogu utjecati na pojavu, intenzitet te duljinu trajanja migrenskih napadaja. Istraživanje se provodilo putem anketnog upitnika koji je sadržavao 21 pitanje. Ukupno 579 ispitanika (96,9 % žena; 3,1 % muškaraca) je ispunilo upitnik u cijelosti u dobnim skupinama od 20-60 godina. Kod 97,6 % ispitanika je utvrđeno da migrena značajno narušava kvalitetu života. 80,1 % ispitanika ovog istraživanja koristi neku vrstu lijekova protiv migrene, dok 32,1 % koristi neki oblik terapije u svrhu liječenja migrene, a 47,8 % koristi neki oblik suplementacije. 45,1 % ispitanika navodi da im pojedine namirnice i sastojci hrane uzrokuju migrenu, a 21,8 % oboljelih navodi da pojedine namirnice i sastojci hrane imaju ublažavajuće učinke ili čak u potpunosti uklanjaju pojavu migrene. Rezultati ovog istraživanja dokazali su važnost uvođenja pravilne prehrane u svrhu prevencije i liječenja migrene.

Abstract (english)

The topic of this thesis was to investigate and study the impact of migraine on the eating habits of patients. That is, which foods and food ingredients can affect the occurrence, intensity and duration of migraine attacks. The research was conducted through a survey questionnaire containing 21 questions. A total of 579 respondents (96.9 % women; 3.1 % men) completed the questionnaire in full in the 20-60 age groups. In 97.6 % of respondents, migraine was found to significantly impair quality of life. 80.1 % of the respondents in this study use some type of anti-migraine medication, while 32.1 % use some form of therapy to treat migraine, and 47.8 % use some form of supplementation. 45.1 % of respondents state that certain foods and food ingredients cause migraines, and 21.8 % of patients state that certain foods and food ingredients have alleviating effects or even completely eliminate the occurrence of migraines. The results of this study proved the importance of introducing a proper diet for the purpose of preventing and treating migraines.
