Abstract

Većina uobičajeno korištene plastike se ne razgrađuje pod djelovanjem okolišnih čimbenika poput vode, zraka, sunčeve svjetlosti ili mikroorganizama, pa udio plastike u otpadu konstantno raste i ima snažan negativan učinak na ekosustav. Zbog toga je u posljednje vrijeme sve veći interes za biorazgradivu bioplastiku. Jedan od načina zbrinjavanje bioplastike je kompostiranje. Proces kompostiranja bioplastike ovisi o temperaturi, sadržaju vlage, broju i vrsti prisutnih mikroorganizama, sastavu ulaznih sirovina, te količini prisutnog zraka. Prilikom industrijskog kompostiranja bioplastike, bioplastika se konvertira u biomasu, vodu i ugljikov dioksid tijekom oko 6-12 tjedana. Kompostiranjem bioplastike se smanjuje količina otpada na odlagalištu otpada i proizvodi se vrijedan proizvod, kompost, koji se može primijeniti u agrikulturi.

Abstract (english)

Most commonly used plastics do not decompose under the influence of environmental factors such as water, air, sunlight or microorganisms, so the ratio of plastics in waste has been constantly growing and has a strong negative effect on the ecosystem. Therefore, a growing interest in biodegradable bioplastics has been recorded lately. One of the ways for the disposal of bioplastics is composting. The process of composting of bioplastics depends on the temperature, moisture content, the number and type of microorganisms present, the composition of the raw materials, and the amount of air present. In the industrial composting of bioplastics, bioplastics are converted to biomass, water and carbon dioxide over a period of about 6-12 weeks. Composting of bioplastics reduces the amount of waste in the landfill and produces a valuable product, compost, which can be applied in agriculture.
