Abstract

Znanje o pravilnoj prehrani je jedan od faktora koji utječe na prehrambeni unos pojedinca. Dosadašnja istraživanja pokazala su da u populaciji sportaša kronično nedostaje znanja o pravilnoj prehrani, što rezultira lošijim prehrambenim unosom i u konačnici može utjecati na sportsku izvedbu. Cilj ovog rada bio je procijeniti znanje profesionalnih sportaša i sportaša rekreativaca o pravilnoj prehrani pomoću A-NSKQ upitnika te ga povezati s prikupljenim karakteristikama ispitanika. Upitnik je riješilo 114 ispitanika. Rezultati upitnika su pokazali da 63,2 % ispitanika ima loše znanje o pravilnoj prehrani, dok odlično znanje ima 0,9 % ispitanika. Nije utvrđena značajna razlika u znanju ispitanika o pravilnoj prehrani s obzirom na spol (p=0,729) i stupanj obrazovanja (p=0,900) ispitanika, ali postoji razlika u znanju ispitanika o pravilnoj prehrani s obzirom na područje obrazovanja (p<0,001). Ne postoji značajna razlika u znanju o pravilnoj prehrani između profesionalnih sportaša i rekreativaca (p=0,643).

Abstract (english)

Nutrition knowledge is one of the factors that affect an individual dietary intake. Previous research has shown that there is a chronic lack of nutrition knowledge in athletes, which results in poor dietary intake and may ultimately affect athletic performance. This study aimed to assess the knowledge of professional and recreational athletes about proper nutrition using the A-NSKQ questionnaire and associate it with the characteristics of the respondents. The questionnaire was completed by 114 respondents. The results of the questionnaire showed that 63.2 % of respondents have poor knowledge of proper nutrition, while 0.9% of respondents have excellent knowledge. No significant difference was found in the respondent's knowledge of proper nutrition regarding gender (p = 0.729) and the level of education (p = 0.900), but a difference was found in the respondent's knowledge about proper nutrition regarding education (p <0.001). There is no significant difference in knowledge about proper nutrition between professional athletes and recreational athletes (p = 0.643).
