Abstract

Rad predstavlja dosadašnje spoznaje vezane uz utjecaj vrsta roda Echinacea na imunosni sustav. Uz kratak opis funkcioniranja imunosnog sustava, ovaj rad predstavlja vrste roda Echinacea kao imunomodulatore. Navedene su kemijske sastavnice biljnih vrsta Echinacea te njihovo djelovanje na pojedine sastavnice imunosnog sustava. Vrste roda Echinacea, posebno Echinacea purpurea, iskazuju imunomodulacijski učinak. Učinak na imunosni sustav uvjetovan je s tri mehanizma: aktivacijom fagocitoze, stimulacijom fibroblasta te povećanjem pokretljivosti i aktivnosti leukocita. Pozitivno djeluju na aktivnost i brojnost dendritičkih stanica, makrofaga, NK-stanica, limfocita T te na citokine.

Abstract (english)

The paper presents the current knowledge related to the influence of the species of the genus Echinacea on the immune system. With a brief description of the functioning of the immune system, this paper presents species of the genus Echinacea as immunomodulators. The chemical components of plant species of Echinacea and their effect on individual components of the immune system are stated. Species of the genus Echinacea, especially Echinacea purpurea, indicate an immunomodulatory effect. The effect on the immune system is conditioned by three mechanisms: activation of phagocytosis, stimulation of fibroblasts and increase in motility and activity of leukocytes. They have a positive effect on the activity and number of dendritic cells, macrophages, NK-cells, lymphocytes T and cytokines.
