Prehrambene navike studenata tijekom socijalne izolacije za vrijeme pandemije COVID-19

Abstract

Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija je 11. ožujka 2020. godine proglasila globalnu pandemiju COVID-19. U cilju smanjenja incidencije i broja žrtava, mnogo država je proglasilo mjere socijalne izolacije kao prvu liniju prevencije širenja zaraze. Novonastale promjene u svakodnevici su neupitno utjecale na prehrambene navike i stil života. U svrhu prikupljanja informacija o prehrambenim navikama formuliran je anketni upitnik sastavljen od 78 pitanja (sociodemograski podaci, stil života i prehrambeno ponašanje). U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 100 studenata. Analize pokazuju kako su osobe u prosjeku provodile više vremena pred ekranom te imali lošiju kvalitetu sna što odgovara otprije poznatim trendovima. Rezultati su pokazali povećanje konzumacije voća i povrća te smanjenje konzumacije alkohola. Značajan broj ispitanika je povećao broj dnevno konzumiranih obroka te je utvrđen viši postotak konzumacije samostalno pripremljenih obroka. Opravdano je zaključiti kako je ciljana populacija ispitanika usvojila konvencionalno zdravije prehrambene navike tijekom boravka u izolaciji.

Abstract (english)

The World Health Organisation declared the global pandemic COVID-19 on 11th of March 2020. In order to reduce the incidence and number of victims, many countries have declared social isolation measures as the first line of prevention of the spread of the infection. The new changes in everyday life have unquestionably affected eating habits and lifestyle. In order to collect information on eating habits, a survey questionnaire consisting of 78 questions (sociodemographic data, lifestyle and eating behaviour) was formulated. 100 students participated in the research. Analyses show that people on average spent more time in front of the screen and had poorer quality of sleep, which corresponds to previously known trends. The results showed an increase in fruit and vegetable consumption and a decrease in alcohol consumption. A significant number of respondents increased the number of meals consumed daily and a higher percentage of self-prepared meals was found. It is reasonable to conclude that the target population of respondents adopted conventionally healthier eating habits during their stay in isolation.
