Abstract

Svjedočimo pojavi porasta pretilosti kod adolescenata koja zahtjeva djelovanje stručnjaka po pitanju edukacije iste populacije glede pretilosti i njezinih posljedica. Cilj ovog diplomskog rada je bio održati edukaciju učenicima II. gimnazije o pravilnoj prehrani i tjelesnoj aktivnosti s ciljem prevencije pretilosti i podizanju svijesti o rizicima povezanim uz pretilost putem edukativnog videa. Također, prikupljene su povratne informacije o održanoj edukaciji. Prikupljeni podaci obrađeni su statističkom analizom. Uporabom Mann-Whitney U testa uočena je statistički značajna razlika između spolova za broj obroka u danu (p =0,023), učestalost konzumacije crvenog mesa (p =0,042) te za učestalost konzumacije gotovih proizvoda iz pekare (p =0,034). Uz statističku analizu prikupljenih podataka, prikazani su i prednosti i nedostaci provođenja ovakvog tipa edukacije. Povratne informacije o edukaciji dobivene od adolescenata predstavljaju dobar orijentir za daljnje edukacije o pretilosti.

Abstract (english)

We are witnessing an increase in obesity among adolescents, which requires the action of experts in the matter of educating the same population regarding obesity and its consequences. The goal of this thesis is to provide education to adolescents about the effect of proper nutrition and physical activity and risks of obesity on health through an educational video. Also, there was collected feedback about education. The collected data were processed by statistical analysis. Using the Mann-Whitney U test, a statistically significant difference between the genders was determined for the number of meals per day (p = 0.023), the frequency of red meat consumption (p = 0.042), and the frequency of consumption of ready-to-use bakery products (p = 0.034). Along with the statistical analysis of the collected data, the advantages and disadvantages of conducting this type of education are presented. Feedback on education received from adolescents is a good reference point for further education on obesity.
