Abstract

Modeliranje odnosa antropometrije i prehrambenih obrazaca moglo bi olakšati proces procjene znanja sportaša o pravilnoj prehrani. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je procijeniti znanje odbojkašica (n=17, dobi x-x godina) o pravilnoj i o sportskoj prehrani te utvrditi pridržavanje načelima mediteranske prehrane pomoću upitnika za pridržavanje mediteranskoj prehrani MEDAS. Primjenom multivarijatnih alata (analiza glavnih komponenti i parcijalna regresija metodom najmanjih kvadrata) ispitana je povezanost antropometrijskih parametara vs prehrambenih obrazaca ispitanica, što je prikazano kvalitativnim i kvantitativnim modelima. Kod svih ispitanica utvrđena je normalna distribucija masnog tkiva te indeksa tjelesne mase. Na neadekvatno znanje o prehrani upućuje sveukupno 45 % točnih odgovora na 11 pitanja iz upitnika Parmentera i Wardlea (1999) te Blennerhassett i sur. (2018). Svega 12 % ispitanica je svjesno važnosti unosa hrane u određenom periodu nakon treninga, 47 % ispitanica unosi ugljikohidrate nakon treninga za punjenje glikogena, 35 % ispitanica zna prednosti i opasnosti suplemenata u sportu. Izračun MEDAS-a pokazuje da se 59 % ispitanica umjereno pridržava, a samo 23,5 % se visoko pridržava mediteranskoj prehrani. Antropometrijski parametri (tjelesna masai masa masnog tkiva) se mogu relativno točno predvidjeti na temelju prehrambenih navika (R2≥0,6).

Abstract (english)

The aim of this research is to assess the knowledge of volleyball players about nutrition in general, as well as the nutrition of athletes, and to calculate the index of adherence to the principles of the Mediterranean diet (MEDAS), which is associated with numerous health benefits. Anthropometric data of professional volleyball players from ŽOK Ribola Kaštela (n=17) were also collected. Using multivariate tools (principal component analysis and partial regression using the least squares method), the relationship between anthropometric parameters and dietary patterns of the subjects was examined, which was shown by qualitative and quantitative models. Normal distribution of adipose tissue and body mass index was determined in all subjects. A total of 45 % of correct answers to 11 questions point to inadequate knowledge about nutrition. Only 12 % of respondents are aware of the importance of food intake in a certain period after training, 47% of respondents consume carbohydrates after training to replenish glycogen, 35 % of respondents know the benefits and dangers of supplements in sports. The calculation of MEDAS shows that 59 % of the respondents adhere moderately, and only 23.5 % adhere highly to the Mediterranean diet. Anthropometric parameters (body mass and adipose tissue mass) can be relatively accurately predicted based on dietary habits (R2≥0.6).
