Abstract

Razvijeni su brojni matematički modeli u svrhu predviđanja dinamike gubitka tjelesne mase. Jednadžba po Wishnofskom prvi je takav model te je u ovom radu primijenjen u praćenju gubitka tjelesne mase petnaest ispitanika koji su se u svrhu redukcije tjelesne mase vodili načelima ketogene prehrane. S obzirom na fazu dijete u kojoj su se ispitanici nalazili i dopušteni energetski unos, modificirana je i sama jednadžba. U svrhu validacije predikcije korišteni su i online alati Weight Loss Predictor Calculator i Body Weight Planner. Iz dobivenih rezultata vidljivo je kako jednadžba po Wishnofskom zahtjeva malen broj ulaznih varijabli (vrijeme i prosječan energetski unos) te je stoga jednostavna za korištenje. Kod većine ispitanika pokazuje visok stupanj točnosti u predikciji gubitka tjelesne mase. Utvrđeno je kako su odstupanja i pogreške u predikciji dominantno vezani uz fazu održavanja tjelesne mase te ukazuju na složenost ukupnog procesa redukcije tjelesne mase te održavanja iste bez „jo-jo efekta“

Abstract (english)

Various mathematical models are developed to predict the dynamics of weight loss. The Wishnofsky equation is the first such model, and in this paper it was applied to monitor the body weight loss of fifteen participants following a ketogenic diet in order to reduce their weight. Considering the phase of the diet in which the respondents were and the allowed energy intake, the equation itself was modified. For the purpose of validating the prediction, the online tools Weight Loss Predictor Calculator and Body Weight Planner were used. The obtained results show that the Wishnofsky equation requires a small number of input variables (time and average energy intake) and is therefore easy to use. In the majority of respondents, it shows a high degree of accuracy in predicting body weight loss. It was found that the deviations and errors in the prediction are dominantly related to the phase of maintaining body weight and indicate complexity of the overall process of reducing body weight and maintaining it without the “yo-yo effect”.
