Abstract

Različite su mogućnosti iskorištenja potencijala kanalizacijskog mulja u okviru kružnog gospodarstva i biogospodarstva, i energetska i materijalna oporaba. Mulj nastaje kao nuspoizvod obrade otpadnih voda, a njegovo upravljanje – zbrinjavanje i odlaganje postaje sve veća briga i izazov na globalnoj razini. Postojeće metode – tehnologije i nove tehnologije koje se razvijaju doprinose i smanjenju količine mulja i povratu nutrijenata iz mulja, rezultiraju proizvodnjom energije i materijalnom oporabom. U ovom radu istaknut će se zakonska regulativa o zbrinjavanju-obradi i oporabi mulja, kao i tehnologije koje se primjenjuju s ciljem materijalne i energetske oporabe mulja.

Abstract (english)

There are various possibilities of using the potential of sewage sludge within the framework of circular economy and bioeconomy, as well as energy and material recovery. Sludge is created as a byproduct of wastewater treatment, and its management – handling and disposal is becoming an increasing concern and challenge at the global level. Existing methods – technologies and new technologies that are being developed contribute to the reduction of the amount of sludge and the recovery of nutrients from the sludge, resulting in energy production and material recovery. This paper will highlight the legal regulations on the disposal-treatment and recovery of sludge, as well as the technologies that are applied with the aim of material and energy recovery of sludge.
