Procjena kakvoće zajutarka djece osnovnoškolske dobi u ovisnosti o mjestu konzumiranja

Abstract

Dobro je poznata činjenica kako je zajutrak sastavni dio pravilne prehrane, no usprkos svim dokazanim pozitivnim utjecajima na zdravlje, zajutrak je obrok koji često nije prisutan u prehrani. Stoga je cilj ovog istraživanja bio utvrditi koliki udio djece osnovnoškolske dobi konzumira zajutrak, učestalost konzumacije i kakvoću zajutarka te razlikuje li se zajutrak konzumiran kod kuće naspram zajutarka serviranog u sustavu školske prehrane. U istraživanju su provedena mjerenja tjelesne mase i tjelesne visine, ispitanici su tijekom dva radna dana vodili dnevnik prehrane, a za procjenu kakvoće zajutraka koristio se Indeks kakvoće zajutarka (BQI). Dobiveni rezultati pokazuju da 84% djece konzumira zajutrak svaki dan, 22,9% djece zadovoljava preporuke za unosom energije u zajutraku te nema statistički značajne razlike između zajutraka konzumiranih kod kuće i onih konzumiranih u školi. Prosječan broj bodova ostvarenih indeksom prehrane bio je 4,3 od mogućih 10. Rezultati ukazuju na potrebu za poboljšanjem kakvoće zajutraka, u čemu važnu ulogu može imati edukacija o prehrani, ali i stvaranje okruženje koje podržava poželjne prehrambene navike.

Abstract (english)

It is a well-known fact that breakfast is an integral part of a proper diet, but despite all the proven positive effects on health, breakfast is a meal that is often not present in the diet. Therefore, the goal of this research was to determine the proportion of elementary school-age children who consume breakfast, the frequency of consumption and the quality of breakfast, and whether the breakfast consumed at home differs from the breakfast served in the school food system. In the research, body weight and body height were measured, the subjects kept a diet diary during two working days, and the Breakfast Quality Index (BQI) was used to assess the quality of breakfast. The obtained results show that 84% of children consume breakfast every day, 22.9% of children meet the recommendations for energy intake in the morning, and there is no statistically significant difference between breakfasts consumed at home and those consumed at school. The average number of points achieved by the nutrition index was 4.3 out of a possible 10. The results point to the need to improve the quality of breakfast, in which nutrition education can play an important role, but also the creation of an environment that supports desirable eating habits.
