Abstract

Nepravilna prehrana pogoršava zdravlje žena, a uz porodičnu hiperkolesterolemiju predstavlja važan čimbenik rizika za nastanak srčanih bolesti, koje su u Hrvatskoj uzrok smrti u 54,5 % žena. Cilj ovog rada bio je procijeniti kakvoću prehrane žena mlađe odrasle dobi s hiperkolesterolemijom te utvrditi postoje li razlike u prehrani između mlađih i starijih žena reproduktivne dobi. Istraživanje je obuhvatilo 56 ispitanica prosječne dobi 32,4 ± 6,3 godine. Prosječan unos energije, makro- i mikronutrijenata procijenjen je dijetetičkom metodom 24-satnog prisjećanja unosa hrane i pića. Utvrđeno je da je prosječan dnevni unos masti i zasićenih masnih kiselina te natrija povišen. Od mikronutrijenata samo niacin i vitamin C zadovoljavaju preporučene dnevne vrijednosti. Nije utvrđena statistički značajna razlika u prosječnom dnevnom unosu energije i nutrijenata između dvije skupine ispitanica. S obzirom da su ispitanice žene reproduktivne dobi koje imaju hiperkolesterolemiju, potrebno je smanjiti unos ukupnih masti i zasićenih masnih kiselina, koje mogu imati utjecaja na porast koncentracije ukupnog kolesterola i LDL kolesterola u krvi.

Abstract (english)

Unhealthy diet can worsen women’s health, and along with familial hypercholesterolemia, it is an important risk factor for heart diseases, which are the cause of death of 54.5 % of women in Croatia. The aim of this study was to assess the diet quality of young adult women with hypercholesterolemia and to determine whether there are differences in diet between younger and older women of reproductive age. The study included 56 women with an average age of 32.4 ± 6.3 years. The average intake of energy, macro- and micronutrients was assessed using the dietary method 24-hour recall. It was determined that the average daily intake of fat, saturated fatty acids and sodium was elevated. Unlike other micronutrients, only niacin and vitamin C met the recommended daily values. There was no statistically significant difference in the average daily intake of energy and nutrients between the two groups of women. Since the subjects are women of reproductive age with hypercholesterolemia, it is necessary to reduce the intake of total fat and saturated fatty acids, which can increase the total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol blood levels.
