Abstract

Ususret rastućim ekološkim problemima i pitanjem održivosti trenutačne ekonomije, javlja se potreba za novom cirkularnom bioekonomijom koja ima za cilj zamijeniti fosilne izvore s obnovljivim izvorima. U cirkularnoj bioekonomiji, veliki potencijal pokazuju filamentozne gljive koje se odlikuju sposobnošću transformacije organskog materijala u niz proizvoda korisnih za ljude. Osim proizvodnje visokovrijednih proizvoda, primjena biotehnologije filamentoznih gljiva ima istovremeni potencijal smanjenja utjecaja klimatskih promjena, posebno na području emisije štetnih plinova. Cilj ovog rada je predstaviti i opisati moguća područja primjene filamentoznih gljiva, te dati primjere organizama koji se istražuju u te svrhe. Nadalje, u radu su razmotrene negativne strane filamentoznih gljiva koje uključuju njihovu patogenost i lučenje mikotoksina. U sklopu rada uzeti su u obzir i izazovi koje je potrebno riješiti za uspješnu integraciju filamentoznih gljiva u cirkularnu bioekonomiju. Oni se tiču problema informatizacije podataka, korištenja suvremenih alata i tehnologija, te standardizacije procesa.

Abstract (english)

In the face of growing environmental challenges and the question of sustainability of the current economy, there is a need for a new circular bioeconomy that aims to replace fossil resources with renewable resources. Filamentous fungi show great potential because of their ability to transform organic material into a number of products useful for humans. In addition to the production of highvalue products, the application of biotechnology of filamentous fungi has a simultaneous potential of reducing the impact of climate change, especially in terms of harmful gas emissions. The aim of this thesis is to present and describe the possible areas of application of filamentous fungi, and to give examples of organisms that are researched for this purpose. Furthermore, the negative aspects of filamentous fungi, including their pathogenicity and secretion of mycotoxins, are discussed in the thesis. Challenges that need to be solved for the successful integration of filamentous fungi into circular bioeconomy are also taken into account. These include computerization of data, use of modern tools and technologies, and standardization of processes.
