Abstract

Industrijska konoplja (Cannabis sativa L. subsp. sativa), kao gospodarski važna podvrsta konoplje (Cannabis sativa L.), u posljednja dva desetljeća predmet je brojnih istraživanja zbog prisutnosti biološki aktivnih spojeva biljke te potencijalnih zdravstvenih dobrobiti. Cilj ovog rada bio je provesti biološku evaluaciju osam pripremljenih ekstrakata industrijske konoplje određivanjem njihove antioksidacijske i antimikrobne aktivnosti te odrediti i usporediti njihove fizikalno-kemijske parametre (ukupne fenole, pH-vrijednost i kromatske parametre). Ekstrakti su pripremljeni dekokcijom i maceracijom osušene i usitnjene industrijske konoplje, pri čemu su kao otapala korišteni voda, etanol (70 vol. %) te alkoholni i jabučni ocat. Koncentracija ukupnih fenolnih spojeva u pripremljenim ekstraktima kreće se u rasponu 31,1-256,59 mg GAE L⁻¹ te su uzorci pokazali nizak antioksidacijski potencijal i zanemarivu antimikrobnu aktivnost. Na promatrane parametre utječu vrsta ekstrakcijskog otapala, vrsta biljnog materijala i vrijeme maceracije. Budući da je najveća koncentraciju ukupnih fenola određena u octenim maceratima, postoji određeni potencijal zamjene biljnih tinktura octenim maceratima.

Abstract (english)

Industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa L. subsp. sativa), as an economically important subspecies of hemp (Cannabis sativa L.), has been the subject of numerous studies in the last two decades due to the presence of biologically active plant compounds and potential health benefits. The aim of this research was to carry out a biological evaluation of eight prepared industrial hemp extracts by determining their antioxidant and antimicrobial activity and to determine and compare their physicochemical parameters (total phenols, pH-value and chromatic parameters). Extracts were prepared by decoction and maceration of dried and crushed industrial hemp, with water, ethanol (70 vol %), alcohol and apple cider vinegar used as solvents. The concentration of total phenolic compounds in the prepared extracts range from 31.1 to 256.59 mg GAE L⁻¹ , and the samples have shown low antioxidant potential and negligible antimicrobial activity. The observed parameters are affected by the type of extraction solvent, the type of plant material and the maceration time. Since the highest concentration of total phenols was determined in vinegar macerates, there is a certain potential of replacing herbal tinctures with them.
