Abstract

Prevalencija hiperkolesterolemije uzrokovane nezdravim životnim navikama u porastu je u svijetu te je povezana s povećanim rizikom od srčano-žilnih bolesti. Jedan od uzročnika hiperkolesterolemije je nepravilna prehrana. Cilj ovog rada bio je procijeniti kakvoću prehrane određivanjem dnevnog unosa energije i hranjivih tvari u osoba s povećanom koncentracijom ukupnog kolesterola (≥ 5,0 mmol/L) i LDL-kolesterola (≥ 3,0 mmol/L) metodom 24-satnog prisjećanja unosa hrane i pića te utvrditi postoji li povezanost između parametara lipidnog profila i dijetetičkih parametara. Ispitanici su bili muškarci dobi od 20 do 40 godina (n=52). Prosječan dnevni unos ukupnih masti (39,2 % kcal) i zasićenih masnih kiselina (13,4 % kcal) je veći od preporuka, a unos ugljikohidrata i vlakana je nedostatan. Prosječan dnevni unos natrija i fosfora je previsok, dok je unos kalija, magnezija i kalcija deficitaran. Unos svih vitamina, izuzev vitamina B6, također je nedostatan. Prosječna koncentracija HDLkolesterola u ispitanika je adekvatna, ali je koncentracija triglicerida povišena. U ovom istraživanju nije utvrđena povezanost unosa energije i promatranih hranjivih tvari s parametrima lipidnog profila.

Abstract (english)

The prevalence of hypercholesterolemia caused by unhealthy lifestyle is increasing worldwide and is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. One of the causes of hypercholesterolemia is unhealthy diet. The aim of this study was to assess the diet quality by determining the daily intake of energy and nutrients in men with an increased concentration of total cholesterol (≥ 5.0 mmol/L) and LDL-cholesterol (≥ 3.0 mmol/L) using the 24-hour recall method and to determine whether there is an association between lipid profile and dietary parameters. The participants were males aged 20 to 40 years (n=52). The average daily intake of total fat (39.2 % kcal) and saturated fatty acids (13.4 % kcal) is higher than recommended, and the intake of carbohydrates and fiber is insufficient. The average daily intake of sodium and phosphorus is too high, while the intake of potassium, magnesium and calcium is deficient. The intake of all vitamins, except for vitamin B6, is also insufficient. The average concentration of HDL-cholesterol in the participants is adequate, but the concentration of triglycerides is elevated. In this study the influence of energy intake and observed nutrients on the lipid profile has not been determined.
