Abstract

Virusne infekcije kod domaćih životinja predstavljaju veliki zdravstveni i ekonomski problem u svijetu. Radi prevencije širenja zaraze, brojne farmaceutske tvrtke usmjeruju svoju proizvodnju k izradi cjepiva za životinje. Jedan od čestih virusa u peradi je virus sindroma pada nesivosti (EDSV) čije su posljedice značajno smanjenje i kvalitete jaja i proizvodnje. Cilj ovog rada bio je ispitati sklonosti infekcije EDSV virusom u tri različita modela u svrhu pronalaska alternative uzgoju virusa i titracijama virusa na embrioniranim kokošjim jajima. Infektivnost virusa EDSV ispitana je na embrioniranim pačjim jajima, stanicama jetre pilećeg embrija i stanicama hepatoma pijetla titracijom inokuluma virusa na navedene supstrate. Na temelju dobivenih rezultata može se zaključiti kako su stanice jetre pilećeg embrija i stanice hepatoma pijetla podložnije infekciji virusom EDSV u odnosu na embrionirana pačja jaja te se mogu koristiti kao alternativa u istraživanjima i proizvodnji cjepiva.

Abstract (english)

Viral infections represent a major health and economic problem in the world, and in order to prevent the consequences of the spread and effects of such infections, many pharmaceutical companies have directed their production towards the production of vaccines. One of the common poultry viruses is the egg drop syndrome (EDSV), the consequences of which are a significant reduction in egg quality and production. Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine the EDSV virus infection tendencies in three different models in order to find an alternative to virus cultivation and virus titrations on embryonated chicken eggs. The infectivity of the EDSV virus was tested on embryonated duck eggs, chicken embryo liver cells and rooster hepatoma cells by titration of the virus inoculum on the mentioned substrates. According to the results, it can be concluded that chicken embryo liver cells and rooster hepatoma cells are more susceptible to infection with the EDSV virus compared to embryonated duck eggs and can be used as an alternative in research and production of vaccines.
