Abstract

Porast učestalosti povećane tjelesne mase (TM) i pretilosti među djecom i adolescentima predstavlja veliku brigu za javno zdravstvo u cijelom svijetu i u Hrvatskoj gdje je uočen jednak trend. Cilj ovog rada bio je utvrditi usklađenost prehrambenih navika s mediteranskim obrascem prehrane (MD) te stupanj uhranjenosti djece nižih razreda osnovnih škola urbanog i ruralnog područja grada Osijeka. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 277 ispitanika od kojih 143 djece iz urbane te 134 iz ruralne sredine. Istraživanjem nije utvrđena značajna razlika s obzirom na stupanj uhranjenosti između djece, a s obzirom na prebivalište (p=0,291) no utvrđeno je da povećanu TM ima 9,8 % ispitanika. Prema rezultatima KIDMED upitnika utvrđeno je nešto bolje pridržavanje MD djece iz urbane sredine u odnosu na ruralnu iako ne značajno (p=0,102), no razlika se očituje u pojedinim sastavnicama upitnika. Iako ispitanici u većoj mjeri imaju umjeren (59,9 %) i visok (11,9 %) stupanj pridržavanja MD, još uvijek ima veliki broj djece (28,2 %) s lošim stupnjem pridržavanja.

Abstract (english)

The prevalence of increased body mass (BW) and obesity in children and adolescents is a major public health problem around the world and in Croatia, where the same trend has been observed. The aim of this work was to determine the compliance of eating habits with the Mediterranean diet (MD) and the nutritional status of children in the first four grades of primary schools in urban and rural areas of the city of Osijek. 277 respondents took part in the study, 143 children from urban areas and 134 from rural areas. The study found no significant difference in terms of children's nutritional status and place of residence (p=0.291), but it was found that 9.8 % of respondents had increased BW. Based on the results of the KIDMED questionnaire, children from urban areas were found to have slightly better, although not significant (p=0.102), adherence to MD compared to children from rural areas, but the difference is evident in certain components of the questionnaire. Although most respondents had moderate (59.9 %) and high (11.9 %) adherence to MD, there were still a large number of children (28.2 %) with poor levels of adherence.
