Abstract

Migrena je neurološka bolest i jedna od najčešćih vrsta glavobolje koji utječe na privatni, društveni i poslovni život oboljelih. S obzirom da je češća kod žena nego kod muškaraca, pregledom znanstvenih istraživanja tražio se odgovor na pitanje zašto je to tako, što sve utječe na pojavnost migrene i kako se prehranom može utjecati na smanjenje učestalosti pojave migrene. Zanimljivo je da razlika u prevalenciji kod spolova raste baš onda kada žena postaje reproduktivno sposobna. Fiziologija žene zapravo je temelj za razumijevanje pojave i učestalosti migrenskih glavobolja. Razine hormona mijenjaju se ovisno u kojoj se životnoj fazi žena nalazi. U skladu s tim, mijenja se učestalost migrene. Smatra se da određene nutritivne komponente mogu utjecati na trajanje napadaja migrene i povećati težinu boli, dok s druge strane kvalitetna prehrana može pomoći kod ublažavanja simptoma. Cilj ovog rada bio je prikazati sve faze života žene, njezine hormonalne promjene, kako to utječe na pojavu migrene, te naglasiti važnost pravilne prehrane u liječenju migrene kod žena.

Abstract (english)

Migraine is a neurological disease and one of the most common types of headache affecting the personal, social and business life of patients. Since it is more common in women than in men, a review of scientific research searched for an answer to the question of why this is the case, what affects the occurrence of migraine and how diet can reduce migraine incidence. It is interesting that the gender prevalence difference increases just when a woman becomes reproductively capable. Physiology of a woman is actually the basis for understanding the occurrence and frequency of migraine headaches. Hormone levels vary depending on the stage of woman's life. Accordingly, the frequency of migraine occurrence changes. Certain nutritional components are thought to affect the duration of migraine attacks and increase the severity of pain, while on the other hand a quality diet can help relieve symptoms. The aim of this paper was to present all stages of a woman's life, her hormonal changes, how this affects migraine occurrence, and to emphasize the importance of proper nutrition in the treatment of migraine in women.
