Abstract

Hashimotov tireoiditis i celijakija (glutenska enteropatija) su autoimune bolesti koje imaju više sličnih značajki te iz tog razloga postaju zanimljiva tema za istraživanja. Na prevalenciju bolesti osim genskih faktora utječu i okolišni čimbenici poput bakterija, virusa, stresa i lijekova te epigenetski faktori. Oboljelima od celijakije jedini je lijek doživotna bezglutenska prehrana. S obzirom na to da se od nedavno sve više govori o utjecaju bezglutenske prehrane na smanjenje simptoma i poboljšanje kliničke slike oboljelih od Hashimotovog tireoiditisa, cilj ovog rada bio je istražiti poveznice između te dvije bolesti uzevši u obzir sličnosti genetske prirode, kliničke slike i u konačnici, dijetoterapije. S obzirom na to da dosad provedena istraživanja nisu dala dovoljno dokaza o pozitivnom utjecaju na oboljele, potrebno ih je ponoviti i proširiti kako bi dala valjane rezultate.

Abstract (english)

Hashimoto's thyroiditis and coeliac disease (gluten enteropathy) are autoimmune diseases that have many similar characteristics and therefore represent an interesting research topic . In addition to genetic factors, the prevalence of diseases is also influenced by environmental factors such as bacteria, viruses, stress and medication, as well as epigenetic factors. For people with coeliac disease, the only cure is a lifelong gluten-free diet. As more has been said about the influence of a gluten-free diet on reducing symptoms and improving the clinical picture of patients with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, the aim of this work was to investigate the association between these two diseases, taking into account the similarities in genetic predisposition, clinical picture and diet therapy. As the studies carried out to date have not provided sufficient evidence of a positive effect on patients, it is necessary to repeat and extend them in order to obtain valid results.
