Abstract

Upalne bolesti crijeva su kronične upalne bolesti probavnog sustava koje obuhvaćaju tri ključne patologije: ulcerozni kolitis (UK), Crohnovu bolest (CB) i mikroskopski kolitis. Uz medikamentno i kirurško liječenje, prehrana igra važnu ulogu kao potporna terapija u postizanju i održavanju remisije te poboljšavanju kvalitete života pacijenata. Cilj ovog rada je bio istražiti prehrambene navike i učestalost eliminacije pojedinih skupina namirnica u oboljelih od upalnih bolesti crijeva. U istraživanju su sudjelovala 173 ispitanika, čiji su podaci prikupljeni pomoću anketnog upitnika. Prema dobivenim rezultatima, pojava bolesti je vjerojatno potaknula oboljele na mijenjanje vlastite prehrane: više od polovice ispitanika (54,3 %) je značajnije promijenilo način prehrane nakon dijagnoze upalne bolesti crijeva. Promjena načina prehrane je bila značajno zastupljenija kod žena u odnosu na muškarce. Utvrđeno je kako ispitanici ne slijede preporuku o češćim, a manjim obrocima kroz dan. Nemaju naviku jedenja voća i povrća te češće konzumiraju meso nego ribu i morske plodove. Namirnice iz skupine žitarica i prerađevina od žitarica ispitanici rjeđe izbacuju iz prehrane, dok su namirnice iz skupine mlijeka i mliječnih proizvoda češće eliminirane, posebno mlijeko koje iz prehrane isključuje polovica ispitanika.

Abstract (english)

Inflammatory bowel diseases are chronic inflammatory diseases of the digestive system which include three key pathologies: ulcerative colitis (UC), Crohn's disease (CB) and microscopic colitis. In addition to medical and surgical treatment, nutrition plays an important role as supportive therapy in achieving and maintaining remission and improving the quality of life of patients. The aim of this research was to investigate the eating habits and frequency of elimination of certain food groups in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases. 173 respondents participated in the research, whose data were collected using a questionnaire. According to the obtained results, the appearance of the disease probably prompted ill people to change their own diet: more than half of the respondents (54.3 %) significantly changed their diet after the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease. The change in diet was significantly more prevalent in women compared to men. It was found that respondents do not follow the recommendations about more frequent and smaller meals throughout the day. They don't have the habit of eating fruits and vegetables and consume meat more often than fish and seafood. Respondents less often exclude foods from the group of cereals and cereal products from the diet, while foods from the group of milk and milk products are eliminated more often, especially milk, which excludes half of the respondents from the diet.
