Abstract

U ovom radu proučavan je proces proizvodnje bioetanola iz lignoceluloznih sirovina. Lignocelulozne sirovine pripadaju obnovljivim izvorima energije te služe za proizvodnju biogoriva druge generacije. Uporaba obnovljivih izvora energije smanjuje emisiju stakleničkih plinova. Lignocelulozna biomasa ima sve veći značaj u procesu proizvodnje bioetanola zbog niske cijene i lake dostupnosti. Od svih biogoriva najviše se proizvodi bioetanol. Uporaba bioetanola u smjesi sa benzinom značajno smanjuje potrošnju benzina, te doprinosi zaštiti okoliša. Bioetanol je tekuće gorivo koje se može dobiti fermentacijom iz lignocelulozne biomase najčešće pomoću kvasca Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Glavni izazovi procesa proizvodnje su: odabir metode predtretmana i optimizacija, smanjenje troškova enzimske hidrolize, maksimalna konverzija šećera (uključujući pentoze) u etanol, povećanje mjerila bioprocesa i integracija kako bi se potreba za energijom svela na minimum.

Abstract (english)

In this research production of bioethanol from lignocellulosic feedstock was studied. Lignocellulosic biomass belongs to the renewable energy sources and it is used for production of second generation biofuels. The use of renewable energy sources (biofuels) contributes to decrease of total greenhouses gases emission. Lignocellulosic feedstocks are becoming more significant in the production of bioethanol due to their availability and low cost. The most produced biofuel is bioethanol. The use of bioethanol mixed with gasoline significantly decreases gasoline consumption and contributes to environment protection. Bioethanol is a liquid fuel that can be obtained by fermentation of lignocellulosic biomass mostly by yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The key obstacles are: pretreatment selection and optimization, decreasing the cost of the enzymatic hydrolysis, maximizing the conversion of sugars (including pentoses) to ethanol, scale-up and integration to minimize energy and water demand.
