Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
Consumation of bottled water is rising fast. One of the reason for that is the concern of people about the quality of tapped water. Also, the lack of water and reduced supplies of water on places full of tourists during hot summer days, in combination withefficient marketing, increases consumation of bottled water. However, potential hazards that occure with PET packaging bring quality and medical questions up. The reason for that is possible migration of compounds from PET bottles during long period of time and with bad storage conditions (high temperatures, sunlight). With different methodes alkylphenols, phthalates and antimony are being determined because they can have negative effect on endocrine system. Besides hormonal, mutagenic activity of bottled water is also being tested, but fortunately during those tests, none of the concentrations found in water stored in PET could not cause serious health problems.
