Abstract

Neadekvatna prehrana pridonosi neadekvatnom lipidnom statusu. Već je dugi niz godina poznata važnost koncentracije lipida i lipoproteina u krvi kao sekundarnog rizičnog čimbenika za razvoj kardiovaskularnih bolesti, koje su jedan od vodećih uzročnika smrti u svijetu. Primarni cilj rada bio je ispitati odnos unosa energije i makronutrijenata i lipidnog statusa u krvi u odrasle, zdrave populacije. Istraživanje je provedeno na ispitanicima (n=98) oba spola iz grada Zagreba i bliže okolice. U istraživanju su korištene antropometrijske, dijetetičke (24-satno prisjećanje), biokemijske i statističke metode. Žene imaju statistički značajno niži indeks tjelesne mase u odnosu na muškarce. S obzirom na vrijednosti parametara serumskog lipidnog profila, muškarci u većem postotku nego žene imaju veći rizik za obolijevanje od kardiovaskularnih bolesti. S obzirom na dobivene korelacije i njihovu statističku značajnost, može se zaključiti da povećanim unosom energije i makronutrijenata dolazi do porasta vrijednosti triglicerida, ukupnog kolesterola i LDL-kolesterola, dok smanjeni unos energije i makronutrijenata dovodi do porasta koncentracije HDL-kolesterola u serumu.

Abstract (english)

Inadequate diet contributes to inadequate lipid status. The importance of serum lipid and lipoprotein levels as a secondary risk factor for cardiovascular disease, which are one of the leading causes of death worldwide, has been known for many years. Primary aim of this study was to examine the relationship between intake of energy and macronutrients and lipid profile in the healthy, adult population. The study was conducted on subjects of both sexes from the city of Zagreb and near region. The study used anthropometric, dietetic (24-hour recall), biochemical and statistical methods. Women have a significantly lower body mass index than men. Depending on the values of serum lipid profile parameters, men has higher risk for cardiovascular disease than women. Based on the obtained correlations and their statistical significance, it can be concluded that an increased intake of energy and macronutrients leads to an increase in triglycerides, total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol, and reduced intake of energy and macronutrients leads to an increase in HDL-cholesterol levels in serum.
