Abstract

Cilj ovog rada bio je odrediti antimikrobno djelovanje izolata bakterija mliječne kiseline (BMK) na najčešće patogene mikroorganizme proizvoda akvakulture: Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus mirabilis, Vibrio sp. te Salmonella typhimurium. Autohtona mikrobna populacija bakterija mliječne kiseline izolirana je iz uzoraka riba i školjkaša, ulovljenih u ljetnom periodu u Jadranskom moru te obuhvaća sljedeće vrste: Lactobacillus plantarum O1, Lactobacillus helveticus O9, Leuconostoc mesenteroides L4A, Lactobacillus plantarum D1, Lactobacillus plantarum K4. Osim navedenih izolata u eksperimentima je korišten i standard Lactobacillus acidophilus LMG 9433. Antimikrobna aktivnost BMK određivana je s tri metode: pomoću mikrotitarskih pločica, metodom s rupama u agaru i disk difuzijskom metodom. Rezultati svih triju metoda se podudaraju i ukazuju na značajnu antimikrobnu aktivnost izolata BMK prema najčešćim patogenim mikroorganizmima proizvoda akvakulture.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this study was to determine antimicrobial activity of lactic acid bacteria isolates (LAB) on the most common pathogens of aquaculture products: Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus mirabilis, Vibrio sp. and Salmonella typhimurium. Indigenous microbial population of lactic acid bacteria is isolated from samples of fish and shellfish caught in the summer in Adriatic Sea and includes the following species: Lactobacillus plantarum O1, Lactobacillus helveticus O9, Leuconostoc mesenteroides L4A, Lactobacillus plantarum D1, Lactobacillus plantarum K4. Apart from the isolates given above, standard Lactobacillus acidophilus LMG 9433 was also used in experiments. Antimicrobial activity of LAB was determined by three different methods: using microtiter plate, agar well diffusion method and disc diffusion method. The results of all three methods show significant antimicrobial activity of LAB isolates to the most common pathogens of aquaculture products.
