Abstract

Rak je jedan od vodećih uzroka smrti u svijetu, a rak dojke najčešće dijagnosticiran rak u populaciji žena. Rizični čimbenici koji utječu na proces nastanka raka su genetski, hormonski te okolišni čimbenici u kombinaciji s rizičnim prehrambenim navikama. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je procijeniti prehrambene navike žena koje su u remisiji ili liječenju od raka dojke i povezati prehrambene navike s pojavnosti raka dojke. U svrhu izrade ovog rada kreiran je upitnik koji je sadržavao pitanja o općim podacima, dodacima prehrani i prehrambenim navikama. Upitnik je bio dostupan online, ali je bilo moguće i popunjavanje u tiskanom obliku. Upitnik je ispunilo 130 žena koje su bolovale ili boluju od raka dojke. Rezultati istraživanja pokazali su da unos voća i povrća, mlijeka i mliječnih proizvoda i prerađenogmesa u ovom istraživanju nemaju značajan utjecaj na pojavu, kao ni izlječenje/oporavak od raka jer ne postoji statistički značajna razlika između uspoređivanih skupina žena.

Abstract (english)

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide and breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in the female population. The risk factors affecting the cancer process are genetic, hormonal and environmental factors combined with risky dietary habits. The aim of this study was to determine the dietary habits of women in breast cancer remission or treatment and to relate dietary habits to breast cancer incidence. A questionnaire which was created for the purpose of this study contained questions about general information, dietary supplements, and dietary habits. The questionnaire was available online, but it was also possible to obtain a hard copy. The questionnaire was completed by 130 women who were suffering from (in remission) or women who are suffering (at some stage of treatment) from breast cancer. The results of this study showed that the intake of fruits and vegetables, dairy products and processed meat in this study did not have a significant impact on the incidence, as well as cure / recovery from cancer, because there was no statistically significant difference between the compared groups of women.
