Abstract
Ovaj rad ukratko predstavlja dosadašnje spoznaje o utjecaju alkohola na imunosni sustav. Na početku se upoznajemo s trenutnim stanjem u svijetu kao i o negativnim posljedicama ingestije, probave i metabolizma alkohola. Alkohol je snažan modulator imunosnog sustava čiji učinak ovisi o dozi. Negativne posljedice pretjeranog unosa su prikazane kod prirođenog i stečenog imunosnog sustava. Uz ulogu pojedine stanice imunosnog sustava opisan je i utjecaj alkohola na nju. Iako je kroz većinu rada opisan negativni utjecaj alkohola na organizam, na kraju su prikazane i prednosti umjerenog unosa.
Abstract (english)
This paper summarizes the current knowledge about the impact of alcohol on the immune system. At first we get to know the current situation in the world as well as the negative consequences of ingestion, digestion and alcohol metabolism. Alcohol is a poweful modulator of the immune system with a dose dependent effect. The negative consequences of excessive intake are shown on the innate adn the adaptive immune system. In addition, the role of specific cells of the immune system is described and followed by the alcohol effect on that cell. Altrough the majority of the work describes the negative impact of alcohol on the immune system, near the end are also shown the benefits of moderate intake.
