Abstract

Konzumacija gaziranih napitaka u stalnom je porastu te predstavljaju vodeći izvor šećera u prehrani koji može imati negativan utjecaj na zdravlje i rezultirati pojavom brojnih zdravstvenih problema. Cilj ovog rada bio je utvrditi i usporediti učestalost konzumacije gaziranih napitaka među adolescentima iz male i velike urbane sredine, Sinja i Zagreba. Demografski podaci dobiveni su općim upitnikom, a unos napitaka procijenjen je upitnikom o učestalosti konzumacije pića (BFFQ). Analiza BFFQ-a pokazala je da najviše ispitanika, 46% iz Sinja i 38% iz Zagreba, konzumira gazirane napitke jednom na tjedan. Adolescenti dnevno unose 0-1500 mL gaziranih napitaka (medijan=54 mL/dan) pri čemu nije utvrđena statistički značajna razlika u unosu s obzirom na mjesto stanovanja. 4% ispitanika iz Sinja i 2% ispitanika iz Zagreba konzumira više od 500 mL gaziranog napitka na dan. S obzirom na promatrane antropometrijske parametre, utvrđena je pozitivna, statistički značajna korelacija između dnevnog unosa gaziranih napitaka i opsega struka (r=0,266), tjelesne mase (r=0,184) i WHR vrijednosti ispitanika (r=0,303). Abstract (english)

Consumption of soft drinks has been growing steadily and it's the leading source of sugar in the diet, which can have a negative impact on health and result with many health problems. The aim of this study was to determine and compare the frequency of consumption of carbonated soft drinks among adolescents from small and large urban areas, Sinj and Zagreb. A general questionnaire is used to obtain their demographic data, and self-administered beverage intake questionnaire (BFFQ) was used to estimate mean daily intake of carbonated soft drinks. Analysis of the BFFQ has shown that most of the respondents, 46% from Sinj and 38% from Zagreb, consume carbonated soft drinks once a week. Teenagers daily consume 0-1500 mL of carbonated drinks (median=54 mL/day), with no statistically significant difference in the consumption due to the place of residence. 4% of respondents from Sinj and 2% of respondents from Zagreb consume more than 500 ml of carbonated soft drink a day.
