Utjecaj unosa nutrijenata na komponente sastava tijela žena u domu za starije osobe

Abstract

Starenje uzrokuje gubitak mišićnog i koštanog tkiva te povećanje masnog tkiva koje se alocira i infiltrira u druga tkiva, a pravilna prehrana smanjuje rizik od oboljenja povezanih sa starenjem. Cilj ovog rada bio je procijeniti unos nutrijenata, sastav tijela te odrediti postoji li povezanost između dijetetičkih parametara i komponenata sastava tijela žena u domu za starije osobe. Ispitanice su bile žene (n=57) prosječne dobi 81,5 ± 4,6 godine. Komponente sastava tijela izmjerene su uređajem BIA-ACC metodom bioelektrične impedancije, a dijetetička metoda korištena u istraživanju bila je 24-h prisjećanje unosa hrane i pića. Ispitanice starije od 80 godina imale su statistički značajno viši udio ekstracelularne tekućine te statistički značajno manji udio intracelularne tekućine u tijelu od ispitanica dobi 70-80 godina (p=0,046). Ispitanice dobi 70-80 godina unosile su statistički značajno više jednostruko nezasićenih masnih kiselina (p=0,034) u odnosu na ispitanice starije od 80 godina. Utvrđena je statistički značajna pozitivna korelacija između udjela mišićnog tkiva i unosa proteina (r=0,26) te unosa selena i mišićnog tkiva (r=0,27). Iz dobivenih rezultata možemo zaključiti da unos nutrijenata nije imao značajan utjecaj na komponente sastava tijela žena u domu za starije osobe.

Abstract (english)

Aging causes loss of muscle and bone tissue and an increase in adipose tissue that allocates and infiltrates into other tissues, while healthy diet reduces the risk of age-related diseases. The aim of this study was to assess the intake of nutrients, body composition and to determine whether there is an association between dietary parameters and body composition components of women in a nursing home. The subjects were women (n=57) mean age 81.5 ± 4.6 years. Body composition components were measured with a BIA-ACC device using the bioelectrical impedance method, and the dietary method used in the study was 24-hour recall. Subjects older than 80 years had a significantly higher proportion of extracellular water and a significantly lower proportion of intracellular water in the body than subjects aged 70-80 years (p=0.046). Subjects aged 70-80 years consumed significantly more monounsaturated fatty acids (p=0.034) compared to subjects older than 80 years. A significant positive correlation was found between the proportion of muscle tissue and protein intake (r=0.26) and the intake of selenium and muscle tissue (r=0.27). From the obtained results we can conclude that the intake of nutrients did not have a significant impact on body composition components of women in a nursing home
