Abstract

Razvojem širokog spektra proizvoda tijekom 20-og stoljeća kojima je cilj bio olakšanje i poboljšanje svakodnevnog života, uz mnoge pogodnosti došlo je i do negativnog utjecaja na okoliš. Proizvodi poput pesticida, proizvoda za osobnu njegu, lijekova, aditiva i bojila sadrže mnoge , prirodi nepoznate spojeve – ksenobiotike, koji na razne načine mogu dospjeti u okoliš, a uzrokuju posljedice štetne po zdravlje ljudi, biljaka, kopnenih i morskih životinja te zagađuju zrak, tlo i vodu. S obzirom na njihove specifične strukture i svojstva, teško su razgradivi. Često su prisutni u niskim koncentracijama stoga metode njihove detekcije i analize moraju biti brze, točne i što jeftinije. Budući da su ti spojevi teško razgradivi, primjenjuju se metode poput bioremedijacije, biostimulacije i bioaugmentacije kako bi se uspješno uklonili iz okoliša te kako bi se zaustavilo oštećenje okoliša.

Abstract (english)

With the development of a large variety of products during the 20th century, whose goal was to relief and improve the everyday life, with lots of benefits also came the negative effects on the environment. Products such as pesticides, personal care products, medications, aditives and dyes all contain lots of compounds unknown to nature – xenobiotics, which can reach the environment in various ways, and cause consequences harmful to health of humans, plants, terrestrial and marine animals and pollute the air, soil and water. Due to their specific structures and properties, they are difficult to degrade. They are often present in small quantities so the methods of their detection and analysis must be quick, precise, and as cheap as possible. Given that these compounds are difficult to degrade, methods such as bioremediation, biostimulation and bioaugmentation are applied to successfully remove them from the environment and to stop its pollution.
