Abstract

U radu je opisana pojavnost alergijskih reakcija uzrokovanih nutritivnim alergenima u dječjoj populaciji, kao i težina kliničkih manifestacija ključnih u dijagnostici reakcija preosjetljivosti. Naglašen je negativan učinak nutritivnih alergija na rast i razvoj djece, te procjena nutritivnog statusa kod djece s određenom alergijskom preosjetljivosti. Naveden je osnovni mehanizam alergijske reakcije i mehanizmi djelovanja novih terapijskih pristupa, prvenstveno alergen specifične imunoterapije (AIT). Napravljen je presjek znanstvenih istraživanja u posljednjem desetljeću koji su doveli do novih saznanja o postizanju tolerancije i trajne nereaktivnosti pojedinca na nutritivne alergene. Uzeti su u obzir novi oblici terapije u vidu bioloških lijekova kao nadopuna specifičnoj oralnoj imunoterapiji djece. Razmotrene su smjernice za prevenciju i liječenje nutritivnih alergija kod djece i uloga nutricionista kao kvalificiranog zdravstvenog djelatnika, ključnog u multidisciplinarnom pristupu ovog javnozdravstvenog problema.

Abstract (english)

This article describes the occurrence of allergic reactions caused by food allergens in the paediatric population and the severity of clinical manifestations, which are crucial for the diagnosis of hypersensitivity reactions. Emphasis is placed on the negative impact of food allergy on child growth and development and on the assessment of the nutritional status of children with specific allergic hypersensitivities. The basic mechanism of the allergic reaction and the mechanisms of action of new therapeutic approaches, in particular allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT), are listed. Over the past decade, a cross-section of scientific research has been conducted that has led to new insights into how an individual acquires tolerance and permanent non-reactivity to food allergens. New forms of therapy in the form of biological medications have been considered as a supplement to specific oral immunotherapy for children. Guidelines for the prevention and treatment of food allergy in children and the role of the nutritionist as a qualified health professional, crucial to the multidisciplinary approach to this public health problem, were discussed.
