Abstract

Obična trska (Phragmites australis) je biljka vodenih staništa koja je kroz povijest korištena u razne svrhe. Danas se sve više istražuje njezin potencijal u proizvodnji bioplina, za pročišćavanje otpadnih voda i bioremedijaciju tla. Cilj ovog rada bio je karakterizirati polifenolnu i ugljikohidratnu frakciju obične trske. Provedena je ekstrakcija različitih dijelova biljke (cijela trska, cvijet, list i stabljika) te su određeni udjeli ukupnih i pojedinačnih polifenola (slobodni i vezani) te... More antioksidacijski kapacitet. Analizom monomernog profila te udjela vlakana, dobiven je uvid u sastav i udio strukturnih ugljikohidrata. Polifenolni profil svih dijelova trske bio je jednak te su određeni rutin, kvercetin-3-glukozid i kvercetin, čiji udio je bio najveći u listu trske, a najmanji u stabljici trske. Dodatak etanola pozitivno je utjecao na ekstrakcijski prinos navedenih spojeva. Nestrukturne ugljikohidrate činili su glukoza, fruktoza i maltoza, u ukupnom udjelu od 4,6 % s.tv. Abstract (english)

Common reed (Phragmites australis) is a wetland plant and has been used for various purposes throughout history. Nowadays, its potential in the production of biofuels, wastewater purification, and soil bioremediation has been increasing. This work aimed to characterize the polyphenolic and carbohydrate fractions of common reed. Monomeric composition profiling and fibre analysis enabled the determination of nonstructural and structural carbohydrates. The analyzed parts of the reed did not differ with respect to the polyphenolic profile. Rutin, quercetin-3-glucoside and quercetin were identified, exhibiting the highest content in reed leaf while the lowest in reed stem. The addition of ethanol enhanced the extractability of these compounds. Nonstructural carbohydrates were comprised of glucose, fructose and maltose, reaching 4,6 % dmb.
