Procjena kakvoće prehrane osoba s celijakijom na bezglutenskoj prehrani pomoću Healthy Eating Index-a

Abstract

Celijakija je doživotni autoimuni poremećaj koji se javlja kod genetički predodređenih pojedinaca, a karakterizira ga teško oštećenje sluznice crijeva nastalo uslijed unošenja glutena. Trenutačno, jedini znanstveno dokazani oblik liječenja celijakije je doživotna primjena bezglutenske prehrane. Svrha ovog rada bila je procijeniti kakvoću prehrane osoba oboljelih od celijakije pomoću odabranog indeksa kakvoće prehrane (Healthy Eating Indeks-2010, HEI-2010) te utvrditi povezanost HEI-2010 s lipidnim profilom ispitanika i antropometrijskim karakteristikama. U istraživanju su sudjelovala 53 ispitanika oba spola (64 % kontinentalne i 34% iz mediteranske regije). Kakvoća prehrane ispitanika procijenjena je uz pomoć HEI-2010 indeksa na temelju sedmodnevnog dnevnika prehrane. Prosječan broj bodova postignutih HEI-2010 indeksom ispitanika iz mediteranske regije iznosi 60, a iz kontinentalne 55. Vrijednosti unutar referentnog intervala promatranih lipidnih parametara ima svega 29 % ispitanika iz kontinentalne regije i 18 % ispitanika iz mediteranske regije. Nije dokazana povezanost HEI-2010 indeksa s lipidnim profilom i antropometrijom ispitanika.

Abstract (english)

Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder which is precipitated in genetically predisposed persons by the ingestion of gluten and it is characterized by damage of the small intestinal mucosa. Lifelong adherence to a gluten-free diet is central and only available treatment of this disease. The primary aim of this study was to assess diet quality of people with celiac disease using the Healthy Eating Index-2010 (HEI-2010) and to determine association between HEI-2010 index, lipid profile and anthropometric characteristics of subjects. The study was conducted among 53 patients of both sexes (64% continental and 34% from the mediterranean region). The diet quality was estimated with HEI-2010 index based on a 7-day food records. The average score on HEI-2010 index of patients in mediterranea region was 60 and 55 in continental region. The values of observed lipid parameters within the reference range had only 29 % of patients from the continental regions and 18 % of mediterranean region. No association was determined between HEI-2010 index and lipid profile and anthropometric measurements of patients.
