Abstract

Vitamin D se najčešće povezuje sa zdravljem kostiju, ali novija istraživanja pokazala su da posjeduje brojne izvanskeletne učinke. Na neadekvatni status vitamina D utječu niski prehrambeni unos, nedovoljno izlaganje suncu i starenje. Cilj ovoga istraživanja bio je odrediti prosječni dnevni prehrambeni unos vitamina D i njegov status u krvi kod postmenopauzalnih žena te ga usporediti sa ciljanim parametrima (demografski, antropometrijski, biokemijski) koji su u direktnoj i posrednoj vezi s njim. Korištene su antropometrijske, dijetetičke i biokemijske metode. Prosječan dnevni unos vitamina D bio je 1,42 μg/dan, a najviše mu doprinosi konzumacija crvenog mesa. Prosječna koncentracija serumskog vitamina D bila je 44,87 nmol/L. Deficit vitamina D (< 50 nmol/L) imalo je 60% ispitanica. Utvrđene su statistički značajne obrnuto proporcionalne povezanosti koncentracije serumskog vitamina D s dobi te s koncentracijama paratiroidnog hormona i kreatinina. Istraživanje je pokazalo visoku prevalenciju neadekvatnog unosa i statusa vitamina D u postmenopauzalnih žena.

Abstract (english)

Vitamin D is most often associated with bone health, but it has also been determined that he has numerous nonskeletal effects. Low dietary intake, insufficient sun exposure and aging has significant effect on inadequate vitamin D status. The aim of this study was to determine average dietary intake of vitamin D and it's status in serum in postmenopausal women and compare that data with target parametars (demographic, anthropometric, biochemical), which are directly and indirectly connected with it. Anthropometric, dietetic and biochemical methods were used. The average daily intake of vitamin D was 1,42 mg/day and it mostly came from red meat. The average concentration of vitamin D was 44,87 nmol/L. Vitamin D deficiency (<50 nmol/L) had 60 % of women. Significant inverse association was found between concentration of vitamin D and age, concentration of parathyroid hormone and creatinine. The study showed a high prevalence of inadequate vitamin D intake and status in postmenopausal women.
