Abstract

Naglim porastom komunalnog otpada kao i samih odlagališta procjedna voda je postala ozbiljna prijetnja ekosustavu. Zbog toga je potrebno, osim kemijskog sastava, istraţiti njen toksični učinak na biljke, ţivotinje i ljude. U ovom radu je istraţen citotoksični i prooksidativni potencijal podzemnih i procjednih voda s odlagališta otpada ‟Mraclinska Dubrava” te njihovo potencijalno mutageno djelovanje. Kao biološki test sustavi korištena je humana stanična linija karcinoma grkljana te bakterijski sojevi Salmonella typhimurium (TA98 I TA100). Iz dobivenih rezultata se moţe zaključiti da podzemne vode uzorkovane prije pročiščivača, na pročiščivaču i nakon pročiščivača ne izazivaju citotoksični ili prooksidativni efekt. Procjedna voda u koncentraciji 5,0x i 10,0x djeluje genotoksično i citotoksično te uzrokuje lipidnu peroksidaciju i pojavu slobodnih radikala.

Abstract (english)

With increase in municipial waste production and subsequently in municipial waste landfills, landfill leachate became a major threat to the ecosistem. It is not only important to study its chemical properties but also its toxic effects on plants, animals and humans. In this work, cytotoxic and pro-oxidative potential of leachate and ground water from “Mraclinska Dubrava” was examined, and also potentially their mutagenic effect. As test systems, HEp2 laryngeal carcinoma cell line and bacterial strains Salmonella typhimurium (TA98 and TA100) where used. Results conclude that ground water before, during and after treatment does not cause cytotoxic or pro-oxidative effects. Landfill leachate in concentrations of 5,0x and 10,0x causes genotoxic and citotoxic damage and induces lipid peroxidation and forming of free radicals.
